Hello. My name is Heidi Davis and I have something very important to ask of you. For the last five years, I have been growing a head of hair that would make Rapunzel jealous -- almost more hair than I know what to do with.
For just as long, I've known that not everyone is fortunate enough to have hair like mine. When my great aunt passed away from terminal cancer, I made the decision to embody her kindness and make a difference: I’m going to cut and donate my hair to make a wig for someone who’s lost theirs to a medical condition. But I can't do it alone.
Will you support me in helping young Australians in need?
With your help, I’ll be donating 55cm of hair and fundraising to help as many people as I can. My goal is to raise at least $500 by the end of August, and every dollar counts.
For families of kids who’ve lost their hair, wigs can cost up to $6,000. These last only 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars just on wigs for their growing child. Every dollar you donate will go towards Variety - the Children’s Charity, and every one will help provide a wig or other vital equipment for a child battling sickness. Together, we can make life better for young kids who need it the most.
Join me in having a blue heart and making a difference.
